The recent atmosphere surrounding the Golden State Warriors is charged with anticipation and concern, particularly as news swirls around Steph Curry’s hamstring injury. During the opening moments of Game 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the All-Star guard faced an unfortunate setback, leaving him on the sidelines for the rest of the contest.
As a result, Curry was absent during the Warriors’ disappointing defeat in Game 2 and is confirmed to sit out Game 3, scheduled for Saturday at San Francisco’s Chase Center, as well as Game 4. He will undergo re-evaluation on Wednesday—just in time for the potential clash in Game 5.
While the likelihood of Curry making a swift return for Game 5 in Minnesota appears slim, conversations about his recovery timeline and possible return date are starting to emerge.
Leading up to Game 3 on Saturday, Shams Charania of ESPN shared an update regarding Curry’s condition on ESPN’s NBA Countdown. Charania indicated that the Warriors are eyeing Game 6 as the “earliest” opportunity for Curry to rejoin the squad.
After a grueling schedule of games every other day, the series will now have a three-day gap between Games 5 and 6, providing extra recovery time for Curry. However, this adds pressure on the Warriors to secure at least one victory at home to avoid facing a win-or-go-home situation back in Minnesota without their star player.
Before his injury hit, Curry had already racked up 13 points in the first quarter of Game 1, propelling the Warriors to an early 10-point lead against the Timberwolves.
As fans await what’s next, Game 3 is set to tip off at 5:30 p.m. PT this Saturday, promising to be more than just a game—it’s a chance for the Warriors to hold strong and defy the odds.
