Imagine this: a family vacation spirals into a dad’s worst nightmare.
In the adrenaline-fueled follow-up to the hit film Nobody, Bob Odenkirk returns as the unsuspecting Hutch Mansell, a suburban father hiding the dark truth of his life as an assassin. The excitement is palpable as Universal Pictures releases the thrilling trailer for Nobody 2, igniting enthusiasm among fans of the original.
Four years have slipped by since Hutch’s encounter with the Russian mob, and he’s now burdened with an overwhelming $30 million debt. His “work” has devolved into countless dangerous assignments against international criminals, merging the worlds of parenthood and his shadowy past.
While the thrill of his job lures him, Hutch and his wife Becca (played by the talented Connie Nielsen) realize their relationship is on shaky ground. In an effort to rekindle their connection, they decide to take their children, portrayed by Gage Munroe and Paisley Cadorath, on an old-fashioned family trip to Wild Bill’s Majestic Midway and Waterpark— a nostalgic location from Hutch’s childhood, shared with his brother Harry (played by RZA).
Accompanied by Hutch’s father (the legendary Christopher Lloyd), the family heads to the small town of Plummerville, eager for sunny adventures. However, what starts as a fun getaway swiftly transforms into bedlam.
An innocuous encounter with local troublemakers escalates into a perilous clash with a crooked theme-park owner (John Ortiz from the Fast and Furious franchise and Bumblebee) and a duplicitous sheriff (Colin Hanks, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee). Soon, Hutch finds himself entangled with a menacing crime leader (Academy Award nominee Sharon Stone) that even he could not foresee.
Nobody 2 emerges as a compelling collaboration from 87North/Eighty Two Films/Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, directed by Timo Tjahjanto, known for The Night Comes for Us and The Big 4. The screenplay, sharp and engaging, is crafted by returning scribe Derek Kolstad (famed for John Wick and Die Hart), alongside Aaron Rabin from Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, based on Kolstad’s original characters.
Renowned producers Kelly McCormick and David Leitch (known for Bullet Train) return, along with Marc Provissiero from Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment and Braden Aftergood of Eighty Two Films. Bob Odenkirk’s involvement guarantees that his compelling narrative vision remains intact, with executive producer David Hyman adding to the powerhouse team.
