In a heartening gesture of support, Tyrese Haliburton has come to the aid of a devoted Pacers fan, who faced harsh treatment from unruly Knicks fans last week. Haliburton has arranged for prime seats at an upcoming Indiana playoff game for him and a companion.
During a recent appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Haliburton expressed appreciation for Hans Perez, the fan whose enthusiastic support made him a target for aggressive Knicks supporters.

Haliburton revealed that he and his teammates viewed the troubling footage of Perez being verbally assaulted while proudly sporting a Haliburton jersey on the streets of New York, shortly after the Knicks’ victory over the Boston Celtics in Game 6. Deeply moved by Perez’s loyalty, Haliburton felt it was imperative to recognize his dedication.
In a remarkable display of sportsmanship, Haliburton offered to cover the travel expenses for Perez and a guest to attend Game 4 of the Pacers’ Eastern Conference Finals matchup against the Knicks.
“I’ll bring you guys out here,” Haliburton told Perez, adding, “We want to make sure you’re well looked after. Everyone here is excited to meet you; it’s been the talk of the team after seeing that video.”
Perez, a dedicated firefighter, initially hesitated before accepting Haliburton’s generous offer, with a lighthearted quip, “I’m pretty sure we can work something out.”
Mark your calendars for Game 4 on May 27. With Game 1 set for this Wednesday at Madison Square Garden, expect Perez to be cheering louder than ever for his team.
