Former President Trump has taken an unexpected step in reaching out to Joe Biden with a heartfelt message amid the current political climate.
During this past weekend, Trump publicly commented on Biden’s recent announcement about his ongoing struggle with cancer, leaving many astonished as he voiced sincere support for his longtime adversary.
Taking to his Truth Social platform, Trump stated, “Melania and I were deeply saddened to learn about Joe Biden’s medical condition.”
He went on to express, “We send our heartfelt wishes to Jill and their family, hoping for Joe’s swift and successful recovery.”
Earlier in the weekend, Biden disclosed that he is battling an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer, which has unfortunately metastasized to his bones.
Notably, Trump has been known to criticize Biden’s age and health during their election campaigns, making this display of empathy a significant pivot in their fraught relationship.
Kamala Harris, the former Vice President, also conveyed her thoughts, expressing, “Doug and I are heartbroken over President Biden’s diagnosis. Our thoughts are with him, Dr. Biden, and their family at this difficult time.”
She added, “Joe is a fighter, and I am confident he will meet this challenge with the strength and resilience that have always defined his leadership. We look forward to his complete and speedy recovery.”
