Tory Lanez found himself in a harrowing predicament on Monday when a fellow inmate launched a brutal assault against him using a makeshift weapon. The attack resulted in multiple stab wounds, necessitating critical medical treatment. His health has deteriorated dramatically, leading to the collapse of both lungs.
According to Lanez’s representatives, he suffered an alarming total of 14 stab wounds; seven of these were inflicted on his back, while four struck his torso. Additional wounds were sustained to the back of his head and his face.
Due to the severity of his injuries, with both lungs failing, Tory required a ventilator to assist with his breathing. Fortunately, there are reports indicating he has begun to breathe on his own, marking a significant step in his recovery.
Despite the extensive pain he is experiencing, friends of Tory report that he remains coherent and is maintaining positivity, expressing deep gratitude for his survival and the unwavering support from his fans.
His lawyer, Jose Baez, spoke with Nova Play, highlighting Tory’s commendable resilience. “He’s staying hopeful and showcasing remarkable strength during this crisis,” Baez stated, noting that a recovery appears feasible for the young artist.
The shocking incident reportedly occurred at approximately 7:20 AM. A correctional officer confirmed that Lanez was attacked by another inmate within the California Correctional Institution located in Tehachapi. His injuries were so critical that he was initially rushed to a local hospital before being airlifted to Kern Medical Hospital for further treatment.
Daystar Peterson, widely known as Tory Lanez, is currently serving a sentence related to a tragic event with Megan Thee Stallion that transpired after a party at Kylie Jenner‘s residence in Hollywood back in 2020.
