Tragically, Jeff Sperbeck passed away last month following a devastating incident where he was involved in a golf cart accident in La Quinta, California, while riding with Elway.
The coroner has ruled his death as accidental, yet investigations continue regarding the events surrounding the incident. Sheriff Chad Bianco reassured the community that no foul play is suspected at this time.
Witnesses recount that Elway, Sperbeck, their spouses, and Elway’s son were returning from a post-Stagecoach party when Jeff fell off the back of the golf cart, resulting in a traumatic head injury.
Emergency responders quickly transported him to a local hospital, where life support was initiated with the intention of organ donation.
Elway openly expressed his sorrow, noting, “Words cannot express the deep heartache I feel at losing such an extraordinary person from my life.”
Describing Jeff as a “wonderful father, husband, brother, son, and friend,” his family emphasized that he “will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
