Baltimore Ravens Strengthen Defense with John Jenkins Signing

Baltimore Ravens have officially brought veteran nose tackle John Jenkins on board with a one-year contract this past Friday. This decision follows Michael Pierce’s retirement, highlighting the team’s pursuit of bolstering their interior defensive front.

Jenkins will join a strong defensive roster that includes prominent players like Nnamdi Madubuike, Travis Jones, C.J. Okoye, and Jayson Jones. Together, they’re expected to elevate the physicality and effectiveness of the Ravens’ defense for the upcoming season.

Throughout the 2024 season, Jenkins demonstrated his capabilities with 46 tackles, including 13 solo tackles, alongside a sack and two pass breakups during his 17 games with the Las Vegas Raiders. His extensive experience is poised to serve him well as he transitions to his new role in Baltimore.

At the age of 35, Jenkins adds both experience and reliability, having started in all 17 games for the Raiders in back-to-back seasons. Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing in at 327 pounds, he is appreciated for his ability to effectively occupy space—an essential factor for disrupting the plays of opposing offenses.
