If you’re planning to dive into Revenge of the Savage Planet this weekend—and why not? It’s free for Game Pass subscribers on PC and Xbox, and I had an absolute blast with its predecessor—here’s a friendly reminder: co-op mode doesn’t play nice if you’re appearing offline.
Attempt to connect with a co-op partner while one of you is hiding their online status, and instead of joining forces, you’ll receive a discouraging message: “Game no longer exists.”
While this might seem minor, a number of players have encountered this issue, even with crossplay enabled. Currently, it’s uncertain whether this glitch is exclusive to Xbox users or if it affects players on other platforms as well. However, Nova Play has found that once you’ve successfully linked up with your partner, you can slink back into the “offline” shadows.

In Nova Play’s review of Revenge of the Savage Planet, we praised its vibrant, chaotic co-op action while also critiquing it for being exhausting before players experience the real thrills, ultimately granting it three out of five stars.
As Bertie noted, “Worlds like these—filled with cliffs, rivers, gorges, and floating islands—should come alive when we’re allowed to navigate them with speed and skill. The joy of traversal should overshadow any struggle.” He continued, “Revenge of the Savage Planet offers glimpses of that exhilaration, albeit not often enough, and by the time it does, you might already feel fatigued.”
