Prominent Ugandan musician Pallaso has expressed his frustration towards well-known events promoter Abtex, alleging he is frequently treated unfairly regarding payment agreements. In a revealing conversation on Sanyuka TV, Pallaso elaborated on a troubling trend where Abtex is said to diminish previously negotiated fees from the initial discussions all the way through to the day of the event.
Pallaso remarked during the interview, “Abitex clearly disregards the worth of musicians in terms of financial compensation.” He detailed that this has been a recurring issue, suggesting that he is not the only artist facing such difficulties in the industry.
The artist emphasized the significant commitment musicians invest in their art, which encompasses time, energy, and resources, all aimed at delivering memorable performances. He asserted that such dedication deserves fair and respectful remuneration. Furthermore, he called on event promoters to engage with artists in a more professional and transparent manner.
Currently, Abtex has not responded to Pallaso’s allegations. The music scene is left anticipating whether this situation will ignite a broader conversation regarding equitable compensation in the sector.
