Nina Roz, a notable figure in Uganda’s music scene, has openly shared her reasons for exiting the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), an organization led by the well-known artist Eddy Kenzo.
In a recent online interview, Roz revealed that she had initially thought the federation’s purpose was to aid artists in overcoming their professional hurdles.
However, she soon discovered that the federation’s leadership was driven by self-interest.
“I believed it was for the benefit of all artists, but my experience showed me it was quite different. The leaders prioritized their own agendas,” Roz expressed, showcasing her growing disappointment.
This is not the first time Roz has aired her grievances regarding the UNMF. Earlier this year, she had made her frustrations known, suggesting that her dissatisfaction has increased over time.
Her decision to leave has raised concerns among her peers, amplifying a collective questioning of the federation’s governance and strategic direction. As Uganda’s music industry continues to transform, her exit may reflect a deeper unrest among the artist community.
We’ll keep you informed of any new developments.
