It’s time to start crafting that iconic bronze bust and fitting for the legendary gold jacket! According to Quentin Lake, there’s no question that Matthew Stafford will strut into the Hall of Fame upon his retirement from the NFL.
During a candid discussion with Nova Play Sports, Lake, who has been side-by-side with the L.A. quarterback since 2022, expressed his unwavering belief, boldly stating that Stafford is “100 percent” Hall of Fame material.
The 26-year-old defensive back shared that his firsthand experience watching Stafford at weekly practices over the past three years has only solidified his belief. He recognizes that there are few athletes who have ever played at such an elite level.
Interestingly, Lake also revealed that Stafford has garnered some playful nicknames among teammates, thanks to his impeccable deep-ball mastery and eye manipulation—“Mr. Long Handoffs” and “Mr. No-Look.”
“I genuinely believe he will be donning a gold jacket the moment he retires,” Lake confidently asserted.
Yet, it’s important to note that not everyone shares this sentiment. Critics often point out that Stafford has only made the Pro Bowl twice in his 16-year NFL tenure, which raises eyebrows.
However, Lake—who happens to be the son of former NFL All-Pro Carnell Lake—stands firm in his conviction that if he had a Hall of Fame vote, he would not hesitate to cast it for Stafford.
“Just look at the facts,” Quentin insisted. “He has a Super Bowl win, an incredible career, and he’s a fantastic father and teammate.”
“In my heart, there’s no doubt—he will become a Hall of Famer,” he concluded with unwavering confidence.
