Robin Kisti, born Robinah Nambooze, recently shed light on the harrowing realities of being incarcerated while expecting a child. Currently four weeks into her pregnancy, she revealed the stark absence of critical vitamins, including folic acid, during this vital period for her developing baby.
During her time behind bars, Kisti endured a sparse diet largely consisting of porridge, bean soup, and unfiltered water. Despite these obstacles, she has shown remarkable resilience in maintaining her health and that of her unborn child.
“I was subsisting on porridge, beans, and water during my imprisonment, which necessitated the use of vitamins to ensure both my health and that of my baby. Thankfully, everything is progressing well,”
Expressing deep appreciation, Kisti noted a significant improvement in her well-being and shared that healthcare professionals have confirmed the positive status of both her and her baby. She commended the prison healthcare system for its dedication to offering essential medical care under challenging circumstances, reflecting a system that has the potential to support those in need.
