The thrilling project, titled Harmonia, will be helmed by the acclaimed Guy Nattiv, who draws inspiration from his own grandmother’s harrowing experiences with a sinister cult. According to Variety, Bleecker Street has secured the U.S. distribution rights and plans to unleash this chilling tale in theaters across the nation sometime in 2026. Crafted by Nattiv alongside Noa Berman-Herzberg, Harmonia is set against the vibrant backdrop of the 1980s. The story follows Rita (Coon), a woman grappling with her past, who encounters an alluring spiritual leader (James). Drawn into the all-female commune known as Harmonia, Rita leaves her old life—and her family—behind. Meanwhile, her daughters, Ella (Ramsey) and Jo (Young), embark on a perilous quest to bring their mother back. As they delve deeper into the commune’s twisted environment, they become ensnared in the leader’s complex web of psychological and pseudo-spiritual manipulation.
The film is being brought to life by Julia Lebedev and Eddie Vaisman for Sight Unseen, with Jaime Ray Newman and Nattiv joining forces under New Native Pictures. Oren Moverman also plays a vital role as a producer, while Leonid Lebedev oversees as an executive producer. International distribution rights are under the watchful eye of Embankment Films.
