Denise Alexander, celebrated for her unforgettable role as Lesley Webber on “General Hospital,” has sadly departed this world.
On Friday, the show’s executive producer, Frank Valentini, paid tribute to her passing, reflecting on her immense contributions and stating she “broke barriers both on-screen and off.”
He continued, “Having her reprise her role in recent years meant the world to us, and I feel fortunate to have collaborated with her.”
Her last appearance on the beloved soap opera was in 2021, after making triumphant returns to celebrate its anniversaries in 2013 and 2019.
Beyond her remarkable legacy on “General Hospital,” Denise also graced the screen in “Days of Our Lives” from 1966 to 1973.
From a tender age of six, Denise showcased her natural acting prowess, branching out not just in front of the camera, but also making waves in radio and excelling as a talented photographer.
The actress proudly earned her degree from UCLA, majoring in English with a minor in art, before diversifying her career with some post-graduate studies while delving into real estate.
A brief hiatus from acting occurred during her university years until the renowned writers Ted Corday and Betty Corday summoned her back to the screen with an irresistible role.
Embracing her return, Denise told the Schenectady Gazette in 1971, expressing her gratitude for taking that leap.
In her personal life, Denise shared many beautiful memories with Richard A. Colla, a director and producer with whom she often collaborated until his passing in 2021. Together, they raised a wonderful daughter, Elizabeth.
Denise’s remarkable journey came to an end at the age of 85.
Rest in peace
