In a striking rebuttal to his detractors, noted entrepreneur and social commentator Frank Gashumba has unveiled the details surrounding his recent kukyala ceremony with Malaika Mutoni. This significant event has captured public intrigue for multiple reasons, ranging from its opulence to its deeper cultural implications.
Gashumba revealed that he had approached Malaika with plans to formally visit her parents back in December 2024, thereby officially celebrating two fruitful years of their relationship.
Initially scheduled for April 2025, the ceremony’s timing was altered to honor the Catholic Lent season. Gashumba elaborated, stating: “As a Catholic, we had to avoid holding it during Lent. That led us to choose May 14, a date suggested by Pastor Bujjingo.”
The entrepreneur took pride in highlighting the extravagant nature of the event, which transpired in Lwemiyaga, Sembabule district. The ceremony became a hot topic in the local community, especially due to the impressive fleet of luxury vehicles accompanying the celebration.
“We had over 120 cars—new G-Wagons that roared down the roads like thunder,” he recounted enthusiastically. “All were sponsored by Mighty Rides due to our friendship. I was particularly impressed by the punctuality of our guests.”
Gashumba further noted the event’s unexpected economic impact, particularly in local fuel demand. “Although we desired discretion, I can confidently say we sparked inflation. Fuel stations ran dry,” he stated with a mix of pride and astonishment.
