When David Mulaliira set out to enter the soft drink distribution arena, he immediately recognized the necessity of associating with a trusted partner. As the founder of Vinegarden Enterprises, a company engaged in various sectors including school supplies, construction materials, and consulting, he had already established a track record founded on persistence and dedication.

To successfully navigate the competitive landscape of the beverage industry, Mulaliira aimed to ally with a prominent brand. His partnership with Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU), part of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa, proved crucial in accelerating his growth trajectory.

Mulaliira’s role as an Official Coca-Cola Distributor (OCCD) began just six months ago. From day one, he was struck by the consistent reliability of CCBU. “Whenever they commit to something, they follow through. I’ve placed orders, and they’ve always arrived on the expected day. It’s rare to find such dependability among larger manufacturers,” he shared.

This level of operational integrity allowed him to focus on expanding his distribution network rather than grappling with inventory challenges. However, his success wasn’t solely due to high-quality products; the collaborative efforts from CCBU during marketing campaigns played a significant role in enhancing his customer relationships.

“During their holiday hamper promotion last Christmas, they worked closely with me, providing insight into the program’s workings, helping with display setups, and even training my team in upselling strategies,” he recalled.

These cooperative experiences turned ordinary retail transactions into engaging customer experiences, allowing him to become a key contributor to customer satisfaction.

“At CCBA, we’re focused on delivering value and exceptional service at all levels of the business,” explained Melkamu Abebe, General Manager of CCBU. “We aim to promote sustainable growth for our partners, ensuring that our products are readily available to all consumers. Our Route-to-Market strategy is designed to enhance operational efficiency with our Official Coca-Cola Distributors, streamlining the flow of products from production to end-users,” Abebe elaborated.
