In a candid interview with Sayuka TV, Frank Gashumba shared his profound experience of navigating life without a romantic partner for an astonishing 24 years before deciding to embrace love once more.
After his recent kukyala ceremony—a customary visit preceding marriage—held on Thursday, Gashumba reflected on his lengthy journey since ending his relationship with the mother of his child. This marks a pivotal moment in his life, signaling a transition into a new chapter.
“I have spent 24 years without a woman but I have been there. Don’t rush to marry or get married because others are doing it or have done it. Take your time.”
Now at the age of 50, Gashumba emphasizes that the wait for the “right one” has culminated in a sense of true happiness and satisfaction, driven not by societal norms but by his individual journey. His approach reflects a thoughtful prioritization of personal well-being over external pressures.
His new partner, Mutoni Patience Malaika, is 26, igniting discussions online due to their notable age gap. Despite the speculation, Gashumba remains steadfast, concentrating on his own joy rather than the opinions of others.
“I’m the master of social media. I have not married because of their pressure. I swear in God’s name, nobody has pressured me to find a wife. I have taken the right decision, at the right time. It’s not about the age, it’s about when you are ready and happy to do it.”
