In a bold declaration, Fik Fameica, the prominent figure behind Fresh Gang Music, has categorically dismissed assertions from fellow artist Pallaso, who claimed to have played a significant role in his ascent to stardom. Fik Fameica, whose real name is Shafiq Walukagga, stands firm in his belief that his achievements stem from his unyielding dedication and perseverance rather than any mentorship or support from Pallaso.
Earlier this April, Pallaso made headlines on social media, sharing his perspective on his influence in nurturing the careers of several leading artists, including Spice Diana, Fik Fameica, Grenade, and Jowy Landa. He implied that his guidance was crucial in steering these talents toward their current success.
Pallaso’s narrative painted a picture of a mentor who ‘discovered’ these emerging talents at a time when they remained largely unnoticed, asserting that he provided the foundational support essential to their rapid rise in the competitive music industry.
However, Fik Fameica has strongly countered these claims. He emphasizes his personal journey and the tireless effort he has invested to cultivate his career. He believes Pallaso’s contributions are not only exaggerated but also misleading in the broader context of his success.
“What contribution? Is he the one who sang ‘Pisto’ or ‘Mbegga Wa Baala’? The only thing I can say is that he cheered for me. Beyond that, there is nothing.”
Fik continued, “I’ve been doing my thing as the world watched. The first time I stepped into the studio, I recorded a hit song. So, what contribution? When I first heard about this, I thought it was just idle chatter. It’s simply not true.”
