Upon its launch, *Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition* will introduce gamers to two exciting new classes, allowing players to delve into the Lands Between with fresh options.
This anticipated edition was first unveiled last month, when FromSoftware announced that *Elden Ring* would be gracing the Switch 2.
At that time, the team hinted at an array of new features, including additional armor, a customizable appearance option for Torrent, and more. While the edition is set for the Switch 2, FromSoftware confirmed that these enhancements will also be accessible as DLC on other platforms.
We now have more clarity on what that tantalizing “more” entails, as it has been revealed that two new classes will be joining the fray.
According to Famitsu, these classes are Knight of Ides and Heavy Knight (translated). Currently, specific details about their stats remain elusive, making this an aspect to watch closely. The Heavy Knight implies a robust and formidable playstyle.
The publication further disclosed that *Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition* will feature three new appearances for Torrent, alongside four novel types of armor, weapons, and combat techniques.
As for the release date, fans are still waiting for an announcement. However, later this month, the co-op spin-off, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, is set to launch.
*Nightreign* will hit the shelves on May 30th, across PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. For those curious about system requirements, you can find the specs for *Elden Ring Nightreign* here.
In addition, FromSoftware has a brand-new title on the horizon, *The Duskbloods*. This game, revealed during Nintendo’s Switch 2 Direct, is a PvPvE experience featuring online multiplayer. Our own Matt noted its intriguing blend, resembling “Bloodborne meets Sekiro meets Dark Souls, infused with jetpacks and dinosaurs.”
Just last week, FromSoftware announced that *Elden Ring* has shipped over 30 million copies globally since its debut three years ago.
