Guillaume Broche, the creative force behind *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33*, recently suggested that a version of the game for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 “might be intriguing.” However, he made it clear that concrete plans are still in the works.

The game, which launched just a month ago on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, has sparked interest in a potential port, especially with Nintendo’s latest console set to debut next month.

During a chat with the French YouTube channel mistermv, Broche reflected on how the game’s impressive performance has altered the development team’s outlook and future projects.

“Given the success we’ve seen, our perspective has undeniably shifted,” Broche commented (via machine translation, as reported by MP1st). “While it’s premature to make definitive statements, the opportunities that have arisen are more than we initially expected, and we are currently evaluating our next steps.” He continued, “So yes, it’s definitely a possibility that could turn out to be quite exciting.”

The enthusiasm from fans has even prompted the team to consider crafting plush toys featuring Esquie, a character that has captured the hearts of players.

Created by a tight-knit group of roughly 30 team members, supported by external partners, the game’s astonishing success has taken many by surprise, achieving one million sales within just three days of its release. This remarkable milestone occurred even in the shadow of Bethesda’s *Elder Scrolls: Oblivion* remake, with Kepler, the game’s publisher, noting that this competition did not adversely affect sales.

The game’s advanced graphics effectively showcase the power of Unreal Engine 5. Digital Foundry, in a technical analysis, noted, “Overall, *Expedition 33* exemplifies the impressive power of Unreal Engine 5, distinguishing itself as one of the most visually stunning RPGs of its time.” They did mention some minor concerns but ultimately praised the game for its consistently high-quality visuals in both exploration and combat.

However, the question arises whether a Switch 2 port is even practical. Rich Leadbetter from Digital Foundry voiced doubts, pointing out that porting the game might result in compromises, stating, “It’s still too early to assess the extent of those compromises, particularly given our limited understanding of how UE5 functions on the Switch 2.”

This week added another layer of intrigue when a trailer described as a work in progress appeared on Reddit. Initially titled *We Lost*, the trailer introduced a striking steampunk town infused with futuristic elements.
