Chris Brown is once again in the spotlight for the wrong reasons, as reports indicate that the popular R&B artist was taken into custody in the UK on Thursday following an incident where he allegedly threw a bottle in a nightclub—an event that dates back two years.
According to law enforcement, Brown was detained at a Manchester hotel in the early hours of Thursday, facing serious charges of grievous bodily harm.
The Sun reports that Brown’s arrest followed his arrival in Manchester via private jet just hours earlier.
This latest incident reportedly connects back to a violent clash that transpired at Tape nightclub in London’s upscale Mayfair district on February 19, 2023. It’s alleged that during this altercation, Brown engaged in a physical confrontation with music producer Abe Diaw, assaulting him with a bottle.
Eyewitness accounts state that during the heated exchange, Brown allegedly struck Diaw on the head with a bottle, followed by a series of punches and kicks.
Ryan J. Daneshrad, the attorney representing Diaw in an ongoing lawsuit stemming from this incident, spoke to Nova Play, stating, “We can confirm that Chris Brown was involved in an incident with our client, and the injuries sustained are serious. We are pursuing all legal remedies to hold him accountable. At this time, we will let the facts speak for themselves through the proper legal channels.”
Currently, efforts to obtain a comment from Brown’s representatives have not yielded a response.
