Burton Albion is poised for a bright future as the club recognizes the crucial contributions of key players who helped secure their place in League One. Seven individuals, whose contracts are expiring, have been offered extensions to remain with the team.
After a tense battle against relegation, the Brewers managed to retain their position in the third tier, clinching victory against Cambridge United and earning a crucial draw against Wigan during the climactic final stretch of the season.
The vital four points achieved in those matches confirmed their safety, assuring that manager Gary Bowyer’s squad would not be displaced, even as they faced a challenging final match against Charlton.
Currently, contract discussions are taking place with goalkeeper Max Crocombe, defender Ryan Sweeney, forward Jón Dadi Bödvarsson, and key midfielder Kegs Chauke, all of whom aim to cement their futures with the club.
In addition to these core players, defender Finn Delp, along with Fabio Tavares and Kamil Dudek, have also received new contract propositions.
On a positive note, the club is also elevating budding talents Josh Taroni and Jack Newall to the first-team roster, highlighting their commitment to fostering homegrown players.
However, the club is set to part ways with six players, including Anthony Forde, Mason Bennett, Jack Stretton, Cameron Gilbert, Toby Oakes, and Dylan Scott, marking a transitional phase for Burton Albion.
