To the spirited fans of the Tar Heels rallying with pitchforks and torches, take a breath! Antonio Gates has a message for you straight from Nova Play Sports: whatever unfolds for UNC this season, let’s not cast Jordon Hudson in the role of the villain.
Currently, it seems there are many in Carolina’s blue camp eager to pin the blame on Bill Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend, especially in light of some unflattering headlines making the rounds. However, when Gates was spotted at LAX on Friday, he firmly urged the critics to ease off.
Even though Gates isn’t particularly fond of the current head coach mixing personal matters with professional ones, he confidently stated that Jordon won’t affect UNC’s win-loss ratio this coming season.
“You can’t place the blame on her if things don’t go as planned,” he asserted.
Nevertheless, the Pro Football Hall of Famer recognized that the increased scrutiny surrounding Belichick’s relationship will demand even more dedication from the 73-year-old coaching icon. Yet, he’s confident that Belichick will handle it with grace.
“He has the freedom to do what he needs to do,” Gates remarked. “I believe he understands the preparation required. Therefore, I have no doubt he’ll excel.”
Regarding UNC, the institution has already made it clear that they are not banning Hudson from entering their premises anytime soon. However, if anyone entertains any absurd notions, Gates advised it’s better to just remain uninvolved.
