In a strategic enhancement of the Tennessee Lady Vols’ tennis program, the University of Tennessee has announced the hiring of two skilled assistant coaches, marking a pivotal moment for the team.
Robin Goodman has been named the associate head coach, offering a wealth of experience acquired over more than a decade in NCAA Division I coaching. Before his appointment, he led the men’s tennis program at the University of the Pacific for five successful years, where he consistently cultivated talent and achieved remarkable results.
“It has been an honor to work alongside Robin at Baylor University, where both our teams distinguished themselves in the top 10 nationally,” stated Alison Ojeda, the head coach for the Lady Vols. “His unwavering enthusiasm and commitment on the court are truly inspiring. Goodman’s extensive background, both as a former head coach and assistant, will be key as we strive to enhance our competitive performance.”
Joining Goodman is a familiar face on Rocky Top—Martim Prata, a former standout with the Tennessee men’s tennis team, who brings an impressive collegiate record of 70 singles wins and 55 doubles victories from his tenure between 2019 and 2023.
“The University of Tennessee is an exceptional academic and athletic environment for both coaches and athletes,” Ojeda added. “Martim is on the verge of an exciting journey as he steps into this dual role as a recruiter and coach. I have no doubt he will surpass expectations and make a significant impact on our program.”
