Fans of Adam Sandler’s classic comedies have reason to celebrate! Kino Lorber has officially announced the much-anticipated 4K Blu-ray releases of Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore, both marking significant anniversaries in the world of film. Although initial reports were light on details regarding special features, Blu-ray.com has clarified that Billy Madison’s 30th Anniversary edition will include a treasure trove of features for dedicated fans. Set to land on store shelves on July 29, the release will boast over 30 minutes of freshly unearthed deleted scenes, enhancing the comedic legacy of this beloved film.
The premise lays the groundwork for Sandler’s signature humor:
“Billy Madison, a perpetually immature rich kid, leads a life of unrestrained revelry. However, when his father, the powerful hotel magnate Brian, has had enough of Billy’s wayward behavior, he imposes a tough ultimatum. Having previously passed grades due to his father’s affluence and corruption, Billy must now navigate the educational system anew—passing each grade within a stringent timeline of 24 weeks or risk losing their family business to his conniving rival, Eric.”
