Owek Charles Peter Mayiga, the esteemed Prime Minister (Katikiro) of Buganda, recently articulated his delight over the revival of legendary musicians making a comeback in the music scene. At a recent gathering held at Bulange, Mengo, he extended a warm welcome to the iconic Kabuye Ssembogga, who is in the midst of preparing for an eagerly anticipated concert.
This event provided an excellent opportunity for Mayiga to inspire the younger demographic of artists, urging them to take cues from the rich experiences of their predecessors and to appreciate the wisdom that comes with years of performance and artistry.
It’s truly uplifting to witness the resurgence of legendary artists. I wholeheartedly encourage emerging talents to look towards these icons and embrace the lessons embedded in their long-lasting influence.
Despite his enthusiasm for Kabuye Ssembogga’s invitation, the Katikiro announced that he would not be able to attend the concert due to prior commitments. Nevertheless, he entrusted the duty of representation to the Minister of Culture and Creativity from the Buganda Kingdom, ensuring that the event will be honored in his absence. This much-anticipated concert is set to take place on Friday, the 23rd, at the prestigious Serena Hotel.
