The conclusion of the District 2-5A softball season brought an unforeseen twist, as Alexandria Senior High and Pineville celebrated a shared championship. Their impressive displays on the field earned them accolades and recognition, particularly in the prestigious 2025 All-District team selections.
In a highlight-worthy season, Mary Claire Brinkman from ASH and Pineville’s exceptional Addalyn Burch stood out as Co-MVPs for their outstanding performances. Burch, with a remarkable track record of 21 victories against only 5 losses, achieved a 2.459 ERA along with an impressive tally of 148 strikeouts. Offensively, she made her mark with a .392 batting average and 33 RBIs. Meanwhile, Brinkman flaunted a batting average of .469 and an on-base percentage of .614, complemented by a stellar .898 fielding percentage that included three crucial double plays.
Under the guidance of their respective coaches, Taylor Belgard for ASH, who led her team to a solid 25-9 record with an 8-2 league performance, and Allison Frye for Pineville, whose squad boasted an impressive 29-5 season, both teams demonstrated remarkable resilience. However, they encountered tough competition in the LHSAA Select Division I quarterfinals.
