Electronic Arts (EA) is celebrating the “tremendous launch” of Split Fiction, while developer Hazelight enjoys another remarkable sales benchmark.

In their 2025 fiscal year report, EA highlighted Split Fiction’s vital role in closing the year on a “high note,” along with the release of EA Sports FC 25.

“The fourth quarter capped FY25 with impressive momentum across our game portfolio, setting us up for exciting growth ahead,” said EA’s CFO, Stuart Canfield. “As we transition into FY26, our focus remains on disciplined execution to prepare for a lineup of innovative new titles.”

Not long after EA’s report was released, Hazelight disclosed that Split Fiction has achieved sales of 4 million copies since its launch at the beginning of this year.

“It’s incredible how many of you have embraced Split Fiction already…” the studio shared via social media. “The enjoyment you find in our game and the affection you show for Mio, Zoe, and each other truly warms our hearts at Hazelight.”

They also made a cheeky reference to “so many hot dogs made,” but let’s just say that’s a delightful moment meant to be savored (wink wink!).

In just 48 hours post-launch, Split Fiction notched up an impressive 1 million units sold. By the end of its first week, another million copies were added to that tally.

But Hazelight wasn’t done yet; the game shattered three world records, claiming titles such as the most-played local co-op game on Steam and the fastest-selling local co-op game within both 48 hours and one week of its launch.

Looking ahead, Split Fiction shows no signs of slowing down. A film adaptation is already in the works, with Sydney Sweeney set to star and produce. Jon M Chu, known for directing last year’s musical sensation Wicked, will helm the project.

Additionally, Split Fiction is slated to be a launch title for the Switch 2, which launches next month. With that in mind, we can expect sales numbers to surge even higher shortly.

“A fantastic experience from start to finish, Split Fiction stands out as one of the most creative and enjoyable co-op games we’ve seen, showcasing the incredible power of human imagination,” praised Katharine Castle in Nova Play’s review of Split Fiction.
